A creative eccentric with a keen eye for detail.

James started his career in Fashion, assisting acclaimed designers including Vivienne Westwood and Diane von Furstenberg before working at the world renowned costume house Angels as a Costumier.

With over 7 years industry experience, James has had the great pleasure of assisting BAFTA nominated Costume Designer Rosa Dias on the Netflix series ‘Sex Education’; Costume Designer Verity Hawkes on AppleTV series ‘Prime Target’ and Emmy Award and CDG Award Winning Costume Designer Jany Temime on Prime Video’s ‘Young Sherlock’.

James has designed some exciting projects of his own including the BFI Network funded ‘Held’ starring Rasaq Kukoyi (Andor), ‘Exchange’ starring BAFTA winner Molly Windsor (Three Girls), Candid Broads’ ‘Kill Them With Kindness’ co-starring Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) and Doreene Blackstock (Sex Education), ‘NAN YAR’ starring Morgane Polanski (Vikings) and ‘That Night’ co-starring Jamie Flatters (AVATAR: The Way of Water).

In 2022 James was selected to join BAFTA Connect, a new tier of membership aimed at creatives and professionals at emerging and mid-level stages of their careers.
